The Cisco Catalyst 6506 Firewall Security System delivers the same 5-Gbps firewall performance with four open slots to provide additional security scalability and flexibility to add I/O or service options. The additional slots can provide increased firewall capacity through additional firewall service modules and the flexibility to implement control and processing module redundancy configurations, add additional I/O interfaces for wiring closet and extranet deployments, and integrate additional services, such as intrusion detection systems (IDSs), network analysis, content switching, and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) in the same chassis.
